Flamenco Beginners, Sevillanas & Flamenco Technique in Utrecht (Teacher: María Robles)
Flamenco & Sevillanas in Utrecht with María Robles
Discover the strength, elegance, and expressive power of flamenco with María Robles, an experienced flamenco dancer from Seville. In Utrecht, she teaches Flamenco Technique and Sevillanas classes for both beginners and dancers with previous experience. Drawing on her Andalusian roots, María brings the authentic spirit of Spanish dance to every class in a warm and inspiring way.
Flamenco Technique classes provide the ideal foundation for anyone wishing to begin flamenco or further develop their technique. Students work on posture, balance, dynamic footwork (zapateado), elegant arm and hand movements (braceo), coordination, rhythm, and expression. Step by step, dancers build strength, control, confidence, and the technical skills needed to perform flamenco with elegance and authenticity.
The Sevillanas classes focus on the four traditional Sevillanas dances performed throughout Andalusia during festivals and celebrations, especially the famous Feria de Abril in Seville. Students learn the choreography while developing musicality, posture, rhythm, and partner work in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Whether you want to dance at Spanish festivals or simply enjoy a new cultural experience, Sevillanas are accessible, social, and fun to learn.
María combines technical excellence with a personal and encouraging teaching style. She believes that understanding the culture and emotion behind flamenco is just as important as mastering the steps. Her classes offer much more than dance technique—they provide an authentic introduction to Andalusian culture, where music, rhythm, and expression come together naturally. María also dances, sings, and plays the cajón, creating an immersive atmosphere that makes every lesson feel like a little piece of Seville in Utrecht.
