Discover the joy of Sevillanas and the expressive power of flamenco with María Robles, an experienced flamenco dancer from Seville. In Amsterdam, María offers Sevillanas classes for beginners and intermediate dancers, as well as a new Flamenco Beginners course. Drawing on her Andalusian roots, she brings the authentic spirit of Spanish dance to every class in a warm, welcoming, and inspiring environment.
Sevillanas are at the heart of the Amsterdam programme. Students learn the four traditional Sevillanas danced throughout Andalusia during festivals and celebrations, especially the famous Feria de Abril in Seville. Alongside the choreography, classes focus on musicality, posture, rhythm, partner work, and the joyful social atmosphere that makes Sevillanas one of Spain's most loved dances.
The Flamenco Beginners class offers the perfect introduction to flamenco. Students develop the fundamTravel with Maria 2027ental techniques of flamenco dance, including posture, balance, dynamic footwork (zapateado), elegant arm and hand movements (braceo), coordination, expression, and palmas (rhythmic hand clapping). Step by step, they build confidence while discovering the artistry and emotion that make flamenco unique.
María combines technical excellence with a personal and encouraging teaching style. More than simply learning choreography, students discover the culture, music, and traditions of Andalusia.
